Cox Communications says phone service was restored by Tuesday night after an outage for some business customers earlier in the day.
Coleen Jennison, director of government affairs for Cox, said the outage began at about 10 a.m. for Cox Business Voice Manager customers. Technicians worked to repair what she described as an equipment issue, and service was restored by 8:30 on Tuesday night.
“We have technicians who are diligently monitoring the network to make sure we don’t have any intermittent service issues,” Jennison said. “And we of course sincerely apologize for any disruption this caused to people’s businesses.”
The outage affected customers in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ohio, Arkansas and the New England area, she said. Residential customers were not affected.
