Couple arrested for gun thefts

A couple is in custody for allegedly stealing seven guns from a soldier’s apartment earlier in April.

Ashley Newbrough, 20, and Todd Newbrough, 20, both of 2418 Charolais Lane, were arrested Thursday, Officer Matthew Droge said, as the result of an investigation into a burglary reported on April 14 by Eddy Sanchez, 23, Manhattan.

Sanchez reported that three handguns, three rifles and one shotgun, worth a total of $7,000, had been stolen from his apartment in the 800 block of Allison Avenue.

Droge said it is expected that all firearms will be recovered.

Ashley Newbrough was arrested for burglary to a dwelling, obstruction of the legal process and felony theft. She is confined on $15,000 bond.

Todd Newbrough was arrested for the same charges, as well as unlawful acts using of a computer. He is confined on $20,000 bond.
