The Riley County Commission re-wrote a draft resolution and bylaws for a proposed Public Building Commission Thursday, striking two articles that would have limited such a commission’s authority.
Commissioners decided to remove an article that would have required the setting of a ceiling on the amount the building commission could apend. They agreed that setting such a ceiling would defeat the main purpose of it.
The second stricken article would have allowed funding only for county-only projects. Commissioners agreed that they would only want to fund projects within Riley County, but would be open to projects from the state or federal level.
County counselor Clancy Holeman said once the bylaws are approved, a public meeting would be held to gather further input.
