Christopher Siegle, a senior at Council Grove High School, participated in the Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair in Wichita this month.

His project investigated the energy output of different types and densities of coal and received first place in the Division I Chemistry category.

It was also chosen as the top overall winner at the event.

This qualifies Chris to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles this May.

Chris plans to attend K-State next fall and major in chemical engineering.
