Collin Klein signs 2-year deal with Montreal Alouettes

By The Mercury

Former Kansas State quarterback and Heisman finalist Collin Klein has secured his first opportunity to play professional football, signing a two-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.

After his career at K-State ended, Klein was invited to the Houston Texan’s rookie minicamp, but was not signed.

The Alouettes also signed former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson last week, giving Klein a high-profile target to throw to right off the bat. Klein’s competition will be tough, as the Alouettes’ current roster includes former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith among other options at quarterback.
