Coleman to coach K-State receivers

Manhattan’s KMAN 1350 AM is reporting former Kansas State wide receiver Andre Coleman is close to joining the Wildcats as the new receivers coach, replacing Michael Smith, who left for Arkansas last month.

Coleman, who is currently an assistant at Youngstown State, is 11th in school history with 1,556 yards and 12 touchdowns from 1990-93.

The former NFL receiver was part of K-State’s first bowl victory against Wyoming in the 1993 Copper Bowl. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1994 and also played for the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.
