City should reject disappointing proposal for south end’s Lot 9

By Letters to the Editor

Tuesday, our City Commission will have first reading of the latest incarnation of the ill-fated downtown redevelopment’s Lot 9. After several years of promises, eminent domain and community and commission wrangling, Lot 9 appears destined to one day be filled by two hotels, some parking lots and a potential mixed-use building. As someone who has followed this process from the beginning, I am underwhelmed by what will be foisted upon the good people of Manhattan.
