Children’s yoga studio to open

By The Mercury

When a child does a down dog, is it called a chihuahua? Manhattan is about to find out. Orange Sky Yoga is opening a children’s yoga studio on Monday, called Under the Orange Sky. This will be Manhattan’s first fully dedicated children’s yoga studio, offering classes for children of all ages, ranging from infants to teenagers and everything in between. Each class is tailored to the specific age group incorporating yoga poses, games, songs, partner and group activities, art projects, storytelling and imagination.

It’s been proven that yoga helps kid’s stress levels, balance, concentration, promotes healthy lifestyles, improves motor skills, ignites creativity, helps sleep habits, teaches discipline, improves strength and flexibility, and builds confidence and self-esteem.

Under the Orange Sky owner Jessa Voos said that she has received countless requests for children’s yoga and decided there was a need in Manhattan.

“We are excited to offer Manhattan another option for children that promote a fun and healthy lifestyle,” Voos said. “We have an amazing team of teachers put together that all have specific training for children’s yoga.”

Along with daily classes, Under the Orange Sky will offer monthly parents night out, birthday parties and other events. For more information and a list of all classes offered, visit Under the Orange Sky’s website.
