Changes to ATA bus routes take effect this week

ATA Bus officials say the service began dropping off and picking up at the recently installed signs posted along its four fixed routes on Monday. The new signs were installed in July.

Here is a breakdown of the changes along each of the routes.

In addition, the Mercury has posted a map of the routes with the locations and times of pickup on its website, http://www.themercury. com.

Red Route

The Red Route added pickup sites at the Candlewood Shopping Center on Kimball Avenue, Mercy Regional Hospital, Founders Hill, the corner of Fremont and N. Manhattan Avenues, and at the Discovery Center. It removed the pickup locations at College Avenue United Methodist Church and the Beach Art Museum.

Green Route

The Green Route added a pickup at Founder’s Hill and removed the pickup at College Avenue United Methodist Church.

Yellow Route

The Yellow Route added pickup sites at Anderson and Westport Avenues, Walgreens/HyVee, Wal-Mart, and the corner of Walters Drive and Butterfield Road.

It removed the pickup sits at Ray’s Apple Market in Village Plaza, Dillon’s in Westloop Shopping Center, the Beach Art Museum, Ace Hardware, and the corner of Walters and Kirkwood Drive.

Blue Route

The Blue Route added pickup sites at the corner of Anderson Avenue and Westport Drive, the corner of Fremont and N. Manhattan Avenues, Walgreens/HyVee, Wal-Mart, and the corner of Walters Drive and Butterfield Road. It removed pickups at Dillon’s in Westloop Shopping Center, Ace Hardware, and the corner of Walters Drive and Kirkwood Drive.
