Change Tuesday at City Hall

By Corene Brisendine

Newly elected commissioners will take their places when the city’s governing body meets at 7 p.m. in the City Commission Room in City Hall.

Commissioners-elect Karen McCulloh and Usha Reddi and commissioner Rich Jankovich will take the oath of office. A new mayor and mayor pro-tem will be announced. Mayor Loren Pepperd and Commissioner Jim Sherow, whose terms are expiring, will be recognized.

Following the reorganization, the new commission will approve, amend or deny the consent agenda, and one general agenda item. That involves renewal of an agreement with the Downtown Farmer’s Market, Inc., for the 2013 season.

Consent agenda items include a third-party administration service for worker’s compensation, and an addendum to the airport agreement with Heartland Aviation, Inc., to extend the use of the Stone Hangar at the Manhattan Regional Airport for two additional years.

Prior to the reorganization, Pepperd will proclaim April 26 as Arbor Day and the outgoing commission will approve the minutes of the April 2 meeting.

The meeting will be televised on local Cable Channel 3.
