Officials of the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Thursday announced creation of a new position designed to support and promote existing area businesses.
Trent Armbrust was appointed to the position of Existing Business Manager. Officials said Armbrust will work both with businesses that are Chamber members as well as those that are not.
Armbrust is a long-time Manhattan resident with a background in business consulting, university instruction and project coordinator. His previous responsibilities include working with the College of Veterinary Medicine at K-State.
The Existing Business Manager position will place a new emphasis on strengthening the local business climate by calling on area businesses and assisting them with plans to expand in the area. Armbrust will assist with confidential business consultation, problem solving, locating resources and professional referral services.
The position will be funded with private dollars.
