Centralia 42, Valley Heights 6

By The Mercury

At Blue Rapids, the Valley Heights Mustangs couldn’t get their offense rolling against one of the top teams in the state on Friday, losing to Centralia 42-6 at home in their district opener.

It was a tough game for the winless Mustangs, facing a Centralia team that is undefeated. The loss dropped the Mustangs to 0-5 on the season.

The Mustangs are on the road next week at Troy, and return home to face Doniphan West the week after that. They play their final two games on the road, taking on Jackson Heights and Oskaloosa.
