Central Plains girls win Class 2A title

In a battle of undefeated teams in Saturday’s Class 2A girls’ championship game at Bramlage Coliseum, Central Plains (26-0) got a long jumpshot from sophomore Taylor Rolfs with less than five seconds left to propel the Oilers to a 47-45 win over Jefferson County North (25-1).

The game stayed close the whole way, with the Chargers taking a one-point lead to halftime and the teams playing an even third quarter.

The Chargers had a pair of costly turnovers in the final minutes to help Central Plains get the win.

Reagan Phelan scored 17 points for Central Plains, while Janae Ryan finished with 15 and Rolfs ended with nine.

Jefferson County North got 20 points from Jacee Kramer.
