Cars burglarized in close proximity

Riley County officers reported that three cars in the Davis and Dehoff drives area were burglarized within a similar time frame.

In one case, a car was burglarized sometime overnight between Dec. 5 and 6 in the 800 block of Davis Drive.

The victims, Jason Wodward, 36, and Robert Roy, 41, reported that Wodward’s duck hunting equipment and Roy’s Gerber multi-tool were stolen, though Lt. Josh Kyle said Wodward’s equipment was recovered in a neighbor’s yard.

Two other cars were burglarized in the 700 block of Dehoff Drive between Dec. 5 and 7.

The victims, Antonio, and Barbara Saverino, reported that miscellaneous items including an iPod, baseball cards, video games and jewelry were stolen from their cars. The total loss was $358.

Kyle said all of the vehicles were unlocked. The incidents, which are considered to be related, are under investigation.
