Brenda Sue Arnett, 64, died Monday at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Brenda was a resident of St. George for the past 9 years.

The family provided some of the following information.

Brenda was born Aug. 20, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. She met her future husband, Dale, while they were both in the Marine Corps.  Brenda and Dale were married Nov. 2, 1970 and recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Brenda left the Marine Corps when she was expecting her first child and transitioned into the busy life of a housewife and mother.  She and her husband traveled Europe and resided mostly in the western United States, including Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Washington and, finally, Kansas.

She was a lifelong reading enthusiast, a loving wife, mother and grandmother of two.  She will be missed for her sharp wit and good sense of humor.

Brenda is survived by her husband, H. Dale Arnett; son Richard and wife Anna; daughter Mary and husband Brian; as well as two granddaughters, Sierra and Elaine.

A memorial luncheon for family and friends will be held at Mary and Brian’s home in Manhattan.

The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
