Bovaird selected for AQHA Horsemanship Challenge

K-State equestrian rider Kelly Bovaird was one of eight riders selected to compete in the 2013 American Quarter Horse Association Horsemanship (AQHA) Challenge.

The event is part of the AQHA Amateur World Show in Oklahoma City. The Horsemanship challenge will take place Nov. 20-21. Bovaird was an alternate for the event last season.

Bovaird, the rising senior from Tulsa, Okla., was an important part of K-State’s Western Reserve National Championship. She compiled an 11-5-2 record with four Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors. Bovaird has a career Horsemanship record of 37-13-2, while racking up eight MOP honors.
