Berean Academy 37, Lyndon 36

Cameron Rust hit one of two free throws with 1.8 seconds left after being fouled by Josh Slater on a jump shot to slip the Berean Academy Warriors past the Lyndon Tigers 37-36.

Rust finished with a game-high18 points, 12 of which came in the second half. Lyndon’s second-leading scorer for the game, Dakota Jiskra, had a chance to put the Tigers up one with less than 30 seconds, but missed his second free throw attempt.

Jiskra was 3-of-8 at the line but pulled down a game-high six boards. The game was tight throughout with Berean holding just a four-point lead at halftime. Daniel Claasen had 11 points and a team-high four rebounds for the Warriors. Two more Warriors combined for eight points.

Nikolas Walsh led all Tigers with nine points. Berean shot two less free throws than Lyndon, but hit more than 70 percent of their attempts.

Lyndon hit 57.9 percent of their 19 attempts. Berean (23-1) will play Sterling (20-4) at 8:15 p.m. tonight.
