BD Sting wins at Clay Center

Last weekend, the 16-and-under BD Sting traveled to Clay Center to compete in a two-day fastpitch softball tournament, taking first in a mix of U18 and U16 teams.

The BD Sting went 1-2 playing the U18 teams, losing two close games to Salina teams, but notched a win over the U18 Clay Center Bs, 10-8.

On Sunday, the Sting tied their first game with the Chapman Irish and then won their second game over the Thunderstix, 10-3.

They ended up playing the Chapman Irish again for the championship and won 10-3.

The team is made up of players from Abilene, Clay Center, Junction City, Manhattan, Topeka, Wamego and White City.

Sting team members include Alexis Campuzano, Brittany Childs, Paige Cunningham, Olivia Diestelkamp, Sydney Gold, Miranda Hemmert, Katherine Hollibaugh, Shelby Holz, Kori Kamm, Allison Kinsley, Jenna Klein, Amanda Roth, Kelsey Schroll, Morgan Slagle and Alex Wood.

The team is coached by Jeff Childs, Will Gold, Elsie Holz, Linn Schroll and Todd Slagle.

BD Sting will be playing at home this weekend in Manhattan.
