Actor and comedian Aziz Ansari will bring his stand-up show “Aziz Ansari — Modern Romance” to K-State in April, the Union Program Council announced Monday.

The performance will be at 8 p.m. April 23 in Bramlage Coliseum.

The comedian recently debuted his third hour-long stand-up special “Buried Alive” on Netflix in November. The special was named one of the best stand-up specials of the year by The Onion, AV Club and Paste Magazine.

Ansari co-stars opposite Amy Poehler in the Emmy-nominated NBC series “Parks and Recreation,” which is now in its sixth season. Ansari’s portrayal of government employee Tom Haverford has earned him critical praise including one of Entertainment Weekly’s “Breakout TV Stars,” TV Guide’s “Scene Stealer” and People Magazine 2011’s “Funniest Dude in Prime Time.”

Ansari has also kept busy in the film world. His voice was featured in the Twentieth Century Fox animated hit film “Epic,” and he made a cameo in “This Is The End” opposite Seth Rogen and James Franco. Additional film credits include “30 Minutes or Less,” “Funny People,” “Get Him to the Greek,” “I Love You, Man,” “Observe and Report” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”

K-State student tickets are available for $12, $17 and $22. Military tickets are available from $18, $28 and $38. Non-students can purchase tickets for $20, $30 and $40. Additional fees may apply. There is a four-ticket limit per order.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26. To purchase tickets, call 1-800-221-CATS, go to or visit the Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum.
