Authorities release sketch of McDonald’s robbery suspect

By Katherine Wartell

Riley County detectives released a composite Thursday of the man they believe robbed the Westloop McDonald’s at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

Detectives said that at about 11:41 p.m., the night manager and his employees at the Westloop McDonald’s were closing the restaurant, when a black male wearing black pants, a black hoodie and black shoes entered the restaurant with a black handgun.

Det. Ryan Runyan said the man was also wearing a black ski mask under the hoodie. Runyan said he demanded money and left the restaurant with an unspecified amount of rolled coins and cash.

Runyan said a passerby saw the man walking on the sidewalk in front of the new Dillons and run across Claflin Avenue to the nearby apartments. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 785-539-7777 or Det. Ryan Runyan at 785-537-2112, ext. 2465.
