Audrey Ann Pfizenmaier, 78, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center.

She was born Dec. 13, 1935 in Clay County to Ernest and Julia (Marshal) Small.

Audrey was raised in Clay County and graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1953.  She married Paul Pfizenmaier on Dec. 13, 1953.  They made their home northwest of Clay Center and farmed for 34 years.  In 1988, they moved to Clay Center.  Paul preceded her in death on May 8, 1997. 

Audrey was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. She also taught Palco Art Club and was a Meals on Wheels and Red Cross volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother and sister.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Mark, Phillip, Patrick and David, all of Clay Center; her sister, Lorene of Clay Center; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clay Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ryan Lynch officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.

A visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 22, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
