Assault on officer during game

By The Mercury

A Goddard man was arrested outside of Bramlage Coliseum during the KU vs. K-State basketball game Tuesday after allegedly becoming belligerent when officers approached him about scalping tickets.

Caleb Schmidt, 33, was arrested for assault of a law enforcement officer, criminal trespass and obstruction of the legal process after police were called to the scene by Bramlage employees.

Officer Matt Droge said Schmidt became belligerent and would not leave the area.

He has been released from the Riley County Jail on $2,000 bond.
