RCPD officers arrested Shawn Levon Brown, 29, 1208 Ratone St., Wednesday following an allegation that he used a blunt object on another man during an altercation Wednesday morning.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that the incident began at 7:30 a.m. at Brown’s residence and was allegedly the culmination of an ongoing dispute between Brown and Gregory Cloppe, 26.

Kyle said that based upon reports Cloppe did not appear to be significantly injured or require transport to the hospital.

After reports of the incident, multiple dispatch units, including the Kansas State University Police Department, were dispatched to Brown’s residence, where they created a perimeter around his house.

Kyle said that officers were able coax the people inside the house out without incident.

He said officers arrested Brown at 100 Courthouse Plaza at 9:45 a.m. Brown is confined to the Riley County Jail on $5,000 bond.
