Arrest after traffic stop

A 51-year-old man was arrested Monday on various drug charges as a result of the Riley County Police Department’s investigation into illegal drug use in Riley County.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Linnie Hamilton, 2500 Farm Bureau Road, Lot 165, was arrested following a traffic stop that was conducted with the help of the department’s Special Investigation Unit.

Kyle said a field investigation carried out during the stop led to the discovery of prescription pills and 1.2 grams of methamphetamine.

Hamilton was arrested for driving while suspended, possession of opiates with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of no drug tax stamp.

He is confined to the Riley County Jail on $8,000 bond.
