Area technical college graduates 144 students

By The Mercury

Manhattan Area Technical College occupied the new Hilton Garden Inn’s main ball room May 11 honoring its graduates in commencement ceremonies.

The college awarded dental hygiene pins to the inaugural graduating class of this now, two-year old program.  After swapping out a room full of family members and other onlookers, the college repeated the process with the practical nursing and associate degree nursing students.

Families watched video monitors as graduates took the stage to move from one level of nursing to the next.

Finally, following a graduation speech delivered by former Mayor Bruce Snead, 144 students crossed the stage to be congratulated by MATC President Rob Edleston and Board of Directors Chair Marla Brandon.
