The 142nd Annual Wamego Independence Day Parade, “Glory to the Red, White, and Blue,” will be at 6 p.m. The evening also features a car show and Ottaway Amusements rides. Wamego’s fireworks show is scheduled for 10 p.m.

Junction City’s annual Sundown Salute is also this weekend. Its fireworks are also at 10 p.m. tonight. The event concludes with American Idol finalist and country superstar Josh Gracin at 9 p.m. Saturday in Heritage Park.
