Anthony Middle School opens volleyball season

The Anthony Middle School eighth grade volleyball team opened its season Thursday with matches against Junction City, Fort Riley and Emporia.

The Anthony A team defeated Fort Riley 25-6 and 25-4. Meghan Klug had two kills and Nicole Keller had 10 service winners.  The A team defeated Junction City 25-13 and 25-11, as Meg Auten had four aces. Anthony then beat Emporia 25-18 and 25-11. Kenzie Smith led the team with three kills, while Josie Hilgers had two aces.

The B team won all of its matches. Kelsea McDiffett and Dawn McNabb had 12 aces apiece, while Kaitlyn French and Carley Harris led the team with four kills.
