Anthony football defeats Salina South

The Anthony Middle School football team defeated Salina South 32-8 on Tuesday at AMS. The Tornadoes scored on their first drive of the game, finishing with an Ethan Kaus 3-yard run. Talon Claussen completed the two-point conversion with a pass to Martin Vogts. Salina South came right back to tie the game to end the first quarter.

AMS added two touchdowns in the second quarter. Glen Young ran 65 yards for the first touchdown, with Kaus adding the two-point conversion run. Vogts scored the second touchdown of the quarter on a 12-yard pass from Claussen. Jalin Harper caught the two-point conversion pass from Claussen to make the score 24-8 at halftime.

AMS scored one more time in the game — a 9-yard run by Claussen in the third quarter.  Glen Young made the two-point conversion run.

The Anthony B team lost to South 22-6. Young scored on a 12-yd run in the first quarter, but Salina South answered with 22 points in the second quarter to run away with this one.
