Police said a 21-year-old female reported that an unknown man allegedly attacked her while she slept at her residence in the southeast portion of Manhattan at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday.
Capt. Kurt Moldrup said the woman reported that she was asleep in her bed when she heard someone come into her room. She said the man, who she could not identify or give a description of, allegedly struck her several times in the face, giving her a bloody nose and then touched her sexually without her consent. The man then fled the area.
Moldrup said the suspect got in to the residence through an unlocked door and that one roommate was home at the time of the attack.
The case is under investigation.
