By The Mercury

Riley County officers arrested a Manhattan man for aggravated assault Sunday night at a Manhattan motel after he allegedly threatened a front-office worker.

Officer Matthew Droge said Shaun Moreland, 35, who reportedly is residing at Westwood Motel, 2108 Fort Riley Blvd., was arrested after police were called to the motel at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Droge said Moreland is accused of holding a knife sharpener behind his back while arguing with an office employee over money.

The victim was not hurt.

Moreland is confined to the Riley County Jail on $7,000 bond.
