Two different parties filed reports in regard to an incident early Saturday morning that involved a verbal altercation turning physical at the Crestwood apartment complex in Manhattan.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Daniel Goldberg, 21, Fort Riley, reported that he was visiting a friend at the complex when, at about 2:20 a.m., he asked another group of people at the complex to be quiet. That resulted in a verbal fight that turned physical.

Goldberg told police that one of the men pointed a handgun at him during the scuffle. Kyle said indications of a firearm were found on the scene, but no arrests were made.

Related to the same incident, Kyle said, Timothy Stech, 25, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Jason Armstrong, Fort Riley, reported that they were the victims of aggravated battery and battery.

Stech and Armstrong said they were struck by the same individual, resulting in apparent minor injuries. They told police they had been walking home when they were confronted and that a physical altercation resulted after words were exchanged.

Kyle said no arrests were made. The incident is under investigation.
