Accident results in arrest

By The Mercury

Riley County officers arrested a St. George man for illegally operating a motorcycle following a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Leavenworth Street and Tuttle Creek Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Sgt. Brad Ingalls said that Jason Lyne, 30, was arrested for driving while revoked and driving while a habitual violator after officers responded to an accident between Lyne and another driver, David Koffler, 41, Denver, near the Hyvee gas station on Leavenworth Street at about 3:25 p.m.

Ingalls said Lyne reportedly drove his Harley motorcycle into the passenger side of Koffler’s Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

Lyne was treated on-scene for minor injuries and arrested following an investigation into the accident.

He was released on $1,750 bond.
