A woman was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center after the car she was traveling in was involved in a two-car accident on Fort Riley Boulevard at approximately 7 p.m. Friday.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Callie Hawkins, 19, Manhattan, was driving her red 1998 Ford Taurus westbound in the 5500 block of Fort Riley Boulevard when a green 2007 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Janice Obriant, 71, Manhattan, attempted to make a left turn onto Murray Road.

Kyle said Hawkins struck Obriant, injuring Hawkins’ passenger, Britney Outler, 18, Manhattan, who was transported to the hospital by Riley County EMS.

Officers cited Obriant for failure to yield the right-of-way while making a left turn.
