Accident on Fort Riley Boulevard

A 76-year-old woman was injured after her car was struck from behind by a pick-up truck Thursday afternoon at about 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Fort Riley Boulevard.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Gail Simmons, Manhattan, was driving her 2004 Chevrolet Aveo eastbound when she slowed for a red light and was struck by Eldon Caster, 46, Burne, driving a 2004 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck.

Riley County EMS transported Simmons to Mercy Regional Health Center for neck, back and knee pain. Officers cited Caster for inattentive driving.
