Access changes on post

FORT RILEY - Fort Riley officials have made two changes that will affect access for people commuting to the post.

As of April 22, hours of operation at the Rifle Range gate will be Monday-Friday, 5-9 a.m., and 4-7 p.m.

Effective May 1, commercial vehicles must enter Fort Riley through either Estes or 12th Street gates. Hours of entry are 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. 

When entering either from Estes or 12th Street gates, commercial traffic will be directed to the search areas located to the south of Estes Road and north of 12th Street.

Commercial vehicles are those vehicles over one ton used for a commercial purpose, including: semi-trucks with trailers, UPS trucks, U-Haul trucks operated by contractors and used for commercial purpose, tow-trucks responding on-post to a request for assistance, and construction vehicles.

Non Commercial vehicles include: half-ton pickup with boat, U-Haul truck operated by Soldiers who are moving as part of a permanent change of station, or recreational vehicles operated by a soldiers or civilians visiting post.
