About 150 pounds of marijuana seized by JCPD

About 150 pounds of marijuana was seized Wednesday in a joint effort by the Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Office. Also confiscated was some U.S. currency, a 1998 Freightliner RV the suspects were driving and a 1996 Honda Civic the RV was pulling.

Officer Nick Blake of the Junction City Police Department and Sergeant Mark Maschmeier of the Geary County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a several subjects near Lacy Drive & US 77. The subjects were contacted by Blake and his Police K9 was deployed around the RV they were driving.

Arrested were Richard C. Welch, 48, North Carolina; Casey D. Standard, 28, South Carolina; and Brian L. Williams, 43, California.

All three men had their first appearance in Geary County District Court on Friday on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
