An Abilene man was killed in a roll-over car accident on I-70 Thanksgiving Day.

The crash happened approximately a mile east of Junction City.

John Kaneaster, 48, died after his 2004 Chevrolet pick-up truck reportedly crossed the median from the westbound lanes and traversed both eastbound lanes and the eastbound 301 exit ramp of the interstate before entering the south ditch where the truck struck a tree and rolled onto its top.

A teenage passenger and the man’s son, John Kaneaster Jr., 13, of Florida, was taken to Geary Community Hospital, for unspecified injuries.

They were both reportedly wearing their seatbelts.

It is not known what caused the accident, but the Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
