80 vendors, two pep rallies…it’s Power-ful

Purple Power Play on Poyntz will give K-State fans a chance to support their teams Thursday and Friday evenings. The block party will have more than 80 vendors selling food and K-State products as well as contests, demonstrations and information from various groups.

Pep rallies will happen at 8:10 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s pep rally is for the K-State football and baseball teams. Friday’s pep rally is for the K-State men’s and women’s basketball team. The K-State marching band, cheerleaders, Classy Cats and Willie the Wildcat will be a part of both as well.

Thursday’s entertainment begins with the Manhattan High Pops Choir at 6 p.m. The Bates Dance Studio performs at 6:30 p.m. and Greg Coffey with the Funk Tribe at 7 p.m.

Friday’s entertainment schedule is the K-State Tap Dance Ensemble at 6 p.m. and the Jared Daniels Band at 6:30 p.m. A fireworks show will take place at sundown.

On both days, there will be an opportunity to take free photos with Willie the Wildcat from 5 to 7 p.m. at the center court of Manhattan Town Center and a free inflatable carnival from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the 500 block of Poyntz Avenue.
