60-day is an outrage in double-fatal DUI crash

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
I read in disbelief the 60-day jail sentence given by District Judge John Bosch to the double killer Miles Theurer. While driving drunk the wrong way on a one-way section of highway, Theurer caused the head-on collision that resulted in the deaths of Elizabeth Young and Michael Stanley. Young and Stanley were both parents with young children. The 60-day jail sentence for this involuntary manslaughter crime is a drastic and unreasonable departure from the presumptive sentence of three to 14 years in prison.
