4 applicants for vacancy on board

USD 383 has received four letters of interest in the filling of former board president Doug Messer’s seat, which he vacated March 28.

Officials said the applicants are John Sanborn, Kansas Association of Middle School Administrators executive director, John Ball, Ft. Riley Mission Support Element chief, Beth Tatarko, a former USD 383 school board member, and Keith Miller, research assistant professor of geology at K-State and a former school board candidate. Ball and Miller attended Wednesday’s meeting.

Those who are interested have until noon Tuesday, April 24 to send their resume and letter of interest to Helen Petrik, board clerk.

The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at the Robinson Education Center to begin preliminary discussions on the applicants. Interviews will take place during a special school board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at Robinson Education Center.
