3 local companies named to national list

Three local companies were named by Inc magazine as among the fastest growing privately owned companies in the United States in 2013. CivicPlus, Purple Wave Auctions and GTM Sportswear all ranked in the top 5,000 companies on the list, which is in the September issue.

CivicPlus came in at 3,113 with 106 percent growth over the past three years. It brings in $16.1 million in revenue and employs 152 professionals. The company specializes in creating city and county websites. CivicPlus has designed more than 1,400 local government websites serving 50 million citizens throughout North America. CivicPlus was created in 2001 by CEO Ward Morgan. It was also named to the list in 2011 and 2012.

Purple Wave made 3,579 on the list with $8.1 million in revenue and 62 employees. Aaron and Suzy McKee founded it in 2000. The auction house focuses on selling construction and agricultural equipment for businesses and public institutions. Purple Wave has the largest community of registered equipment bidders in the no-reserve, Internet auction business, with more than 100,000 registered bidders and more than 250,000 visitors a month, according to its website. It has been named to the list four years in a row.

GTM Sportswear came in 4,423 on the list with 53 percent growth over three years.

It employs 837 people and brings in $76.9 million annually. GTM Sportswear is a national provider of custom-embellished uniforms, warm-ups and practice apparel for college, school and club sports teams. GTM, owned by Dave Dreiling, has outfitted over 1.1 million teams since 1989. It has been on the list seven years in a row, every year the list has been published by Inc. magazine.
