An accident on Tuttle Creek Boulevard on Tuesday resulted in at least two fatalities, according to officials.
Riley County Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on the 4600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard in northeast Manhattan at about 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, said Officer Matthew Droge of the Riley County Police Department. Kansas Highway Patrol also responded.
Discussion on the police scanner indicated that at least two people had died in the crash. Droge said he couldn’t confirm the number, but he did confirm that the accident had been fatal.
Police closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Tuttle Creek Boulevard following the accident. Prior to 4:30 p.m., the southbound lane was reopened. And just before 5 p.m., the north lane was routed around the accident, Droge said.
Drivers may still experience delays and should take alternate routes if possible, he said.
