The Manhattan Optimist Aftershock 14-and-under fastpitch softball team played in the rain shortened Wamego Spring Spectacular tournament Saturday.
The Aftershock took the first game from the Topeka Electric Storm, 9-7. Jayden Weers was the winning pitcher, bringing her to record to 1-1 for the year.
Cassidy Cheever had a triple and a single and Makayla Tegtmeier and Maigan Powers had two singles each. Cheyenne Brunkow, Suzanna Gevock, Michaela Hayes and Ashley Faiola added one single apiece.
In the next game, the Topeka Red Hots won the game, 8-4. Olivia Lee took the loss. Jayden Weers had a double with Lee and Emily Brummett each adding a single.
The final game was against the Chapman Lady Irish. Maigan Powers pitched and took the loss, 13-1. Alyssa Sias led all hitters with two singles and Powers added a single.
The Aftershock, in their first year, is 2-4 on the season and will play in Manhattan at Twin Oaks on May 12.
