1 person injured in home invasion

Riley County Police Department received a 911 call reporting a home invasion at Chase Manhattan Apartments, 1401 Chase Place, on Friday just before midnight. The caller said someone might have been shot or stabbed.

Witnesses reported that a suspect wearing a black mask and hooded sweatshirt had fled the area.

Officers responding to the scene found an injured male who was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center, where he was stabilized and then flown to Via Christi hospital in Wichita.

The case is being investigated by the Riley County Investigations Division.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name at this time because the family has not yet been notified. Police also said they are not releasing further information about the victim’s injury because of the nature of the crime.
