A rollover collision on K-18 late Saturday afternoon left just one person injured, though post-game traffic on the road was delayed for at least half an hour while emergency personnel responded, police said.

Two vehicles, a full-size SUV and a small, two-door car, were driving on Kansas Highway 18 west of Seth Child Road when they crashed head-on, causing the car to roll over into the ditch on the north side of the road, said Sgt. Doug Wood of the Riley County Police Department.

Police received the call at 4:37 p.m. Although the vehicles weren’t on the highway, officials closed the road for the safey of responders and of the public, he said.

None of the passengers of the SUV were injured, but the driver of the car was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

Wood said it wasn’t clear what caused the accident or whether it had to do with the ongoing road construction in the area.
