RSS feeds are commonly used by people who like to be updated with the latest news straight to their Homepage or *Reader.
Really Simple Syndication offers feeds of story headlines in XML format ("RSS Content") to visitors. Simply click on the links provided and follow the instructions to be able to access your headline updates.
Basic guide:
Click on either News, K-State Sports or Local Sports link and you will see a number of headlines. At the top will be a brief about RSS feeds and possibly an area to learn more.
Also depending on your browser (and what webmail you use - if any) you will be given the option to "Subscribe to this feed using ..." If you click on the down arrow next to the first option, you can see several options available to you - Live Bookmarks, Bloglines, My Yahoo, Google and Choose Application...
Select which you use or would like to use. E.g. If you choose Google, you will be taken to a page where you will choose whether you want to add it to a Google homepage or Google Reader. Follow their instructions to set up a place to view these headlines, if you do not already have one set up.
*For those of you who already have programs like "Google Reader" that you can access through Gmail, likewise with (My)Yahoo, you can add the link within the Reader program to subscribe to this feature.
