AMES, Iowa — The Kansas State track and field team closed the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships with the women's team finishing eighth with 54 points, while the men claimed eighth and 44.5 points.
Ramos finished second in the women's 3,000 meters to tally her second second-place finish of the championship.
Moritz Cleve could not defend his title in the heptathlon, but made it a dramatic finish forcing Missouri's Nick Adcock to run hard in the 1,000M to close the event.
Cleve was joined on the podium by two teammates, as Mantas Silkauskas and Rok Derzanic finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
The men's team scored big in the high jump with freshman Erik Kynard, Jr. finishing second and Michael Healey claimed fifth as the two combined for 12 points.
Cassie Styers also shined for the Wildcats in the women's high jump, as she cleared the first three heights on her first attempt to move among the leaders of the pack.
The Wildcats scored points in the mid-distance events with a men's and women's representative in the 800M and 1,000M. The women also had Lekesha Pointer-Allen in the 600-yard run. Boglarka Bozzay finished fourth in the 1,000M as did Armando Del Valle in the men's race. Freshman Sara Stoakes took third in the women's 800M, and the pair of Jack Sachse and Jacob Davies finished sixth and eighth, respectively.
K-State had a pair of hurdlers earn points for their teams with Denise Baker and Jeffrey Julmis each making the final in the 60-meter hurdles. Julmis improved his personal best time to 7.83 in the race.
